Risk.
Risk is the effect of uncertainty on objectives and can be positive, negative or both, and can create, address or result in opportunities and threats. At Primus Risk we take the time to help you understand risks with regard to the varying aspects and categories of objectives you have, and how it is applied at different levels of your organisation.
Integration is a key component of risk management principles and frameworks, and so many organisations get it wrong. It is not a separate, stand alone activity, to be checked on once a quarter or yearly. Risk is a part of all activities that make up an organisation, at all levels, and therefore everyone is your business has responsibility for managing risk.
Integrating risk into everyday decision-making leads to better, and more informed, decision-making and helps you manage risk more efficiently, effectively and consistently. Without a doubt, this leads to the creation and protection of value in your business – which is what you need to be successful and grow.

Management Systems.
A management system is a systematic approach to managing a particular subject (e.g. risk, safety, quality), or interrelated parts of a business, to achieve objectives. These systems contain policies, plans, procedures and have a focus on continuous improvement. Some management systems are based on Standards and are designed with specific requirements while others are provided as guidelines. There are plenty of off-the-shelf tools available and no shortage of vendors and consultants who can provide templates for you, but they will more often than not end up back on a shelf – yours!
We work with you to understand your business and its complexities so our advice is focussed on what is essential and scalable and practical for use. The fact is that having an effective management system embedded does benefit your business:
- more efficient use of your resources
- improved financial performance
- improved risk management and better protection of people and the environment
- stronger capability to be consistent in your delivery of better products and services, which means more value to your stakeholders and customers – new and existing.
